Whoa! It’s only a month away, now! “Pagan Portals – Blodeuwedd: Welsh Goddess of Seasonal Sovereignty” will be released on August 1st… and perhaps a bit sooner for those who have already pre-ordered! (Pre-order details here: https://www.johnhuntpublishing.com/moon-books/our-books/pagan-portals-blodeuwedd)
To celebrate the official birthing of this book out into the world, I will be sharing a few Blodeuwedd-centered offerings in the coming weeks, including:
– On Friday, July 9th at 8pm EDT, I’m being hosted by The Coracle Live: Books, Bards, and Ballads. This free event will take place by livestream on the Sisterhood of Avalon‘s FB page, and will be available to watch there after the fact for those who cannot make it live. I’ll be interviewed by our gracious hostess, will be doing a few readings from the book, and will answer any and all of your questions!
– On Saturday, July 17th, I will be presenting a 2.5 hour virtual workshop “Reclaiming Blodeuwedd” – through The Coracle. Registration is now open, and everyone is welcome to join us! Tickets are available here: https://tinyurl.com/TheCoracleBlodeuwedd
– I also have a few goodies in the works, so watch this space for more announcements!
I am so grateful for everyone’s support and enthusiasm for this book. Although it is a fairly short book at 136 pages (as is the nature of the Pagan Portals series), it is an accessible gathering of all extant sources for Blodeuwedd’s story, an analysis of her tale from its contemporary cultural context, a reclamation of who and what may underscore this medieval literary figure, and an accessible resource for those who wish to be in modern devotional relationship with this complex figure I believe to have been a Goddess of Seasonal Sovereignty.
Thank you again, and many blessings!
