From holy well to perpetual flame … from chamber tomb to standing stones … from deep inner workings to immersive cultural learning … If you hear the call of Eire, and long to walk a pilgrims’ path through her sacred landscape, then we invite you on a spiritual journey unlike any other. Join author Erynn Rowan Laurie on a seven day pilgrimage to Ireland, exploring our connections with the Goddess Brigid and the flow of imbas that she inspires. Our journey will take us from the Christian holy center of Brigid in Kildare, through the megalithic sites of the Newgrange complex, and beyond.
The Seeking Brigid Pilgrimage takes place from July 11th through July 18th, 2012, and is open to everyone over the age of 18 who is interested in writing, poetry, and the arts as a spiritual path. Our focus will be on strengthening our relationships with the Goddess Brigid, patron of poetry, smithcraft, and healing, through visiting her sacred places, engaging in creation of poetry, song, chant, and writing, and through meditation and dream incubation. We will undertake deep workings to unlock the power of imbas within us — the sacred poetic inspiration that flows from the Otherworldly Well of Wisdom and into the upturned vessels of musicians, poets, writers, and all who express the sacred through the arts.
Registration is now open for the Seeking Brigid: Sacred Well, Holy Flame 2012 Pilgrimage to Ireland, presented by the Sisterhood of Avalon.
