Everything about “Avalon Within” has been an incredible journey. I began writing it almost 10 years ago, and witnessed it grow and evolve from it’s first edition with Ninth Wave Press published in 2005 — a small press with limited offline distribution — to the revised and expanded edition now presented by Llewellyn Publications, available everywhere. I cannot believe how beautiful the book is — from the incredible velvety matte cover featuring Waterhouse’s “Lady of Shallot” to the eight pages of incredible full-color photos of sacred sites in the Glastonbury landscape — I so very much appreciate the care and special handling Llewellyn has given to help the book shine!
It’s hard to articulate what it is like to hold the finished product in your hands after all of the decades of practice, years of research, months of revisions, nights of edits, and blessed moments illuminated by the grace of Awen. I am grateful for and humbled by the support I have received from my family and friends, my sisters and community, my editors and everyone who believes in me … and more importantly, are touched by the work.
With “Avalon Within” I have done my very best to present the foundational work of the Avalonian Tradition in a way that is as accessible, as inspirational, and as grounded in research as possible. There are many who come to the same source materials that have inspired me, and take from them a different pathway of spiritual exploration. I see in Avalon a paradigm for soul growth, spiritual transformation, and a clearly marked path to personal Sovereignty that brings us into the presence of the Mighty Ones. I have been blessed by this evolving work for 22 years, and inspired by Avalon herself for almost 30 years. If there are flaws in “Avalon Within”, they are my own. If there are moments of beauty and clarity and a hint of Awen, they belong solely to the Ladies of Avalon whom I have done my best to serve.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are some photos of “Avalon Within” now that I hold it, finally, in my hands.
Thank you for sharing in this journey with me!
